Candied Bowery Basil

Beautiful and fragrant, these delicious candied basil leaves are a welcome addition to any dessert.

  • Bowery Basil, 1.25 oz, leaves cut from stems
  • 1 large egg white
  • ½ cup sugar
Recipe Preparation
  1. Whisk egg white with 1 tsp of water until frothy, then, working with one leaf at a time, brush egg wash onto Bowery Basil; sprinkle with sugar and transfer to a wire rack to let cool for at least one hour until firm and dry.
  2. Once dry, place candied basil garnish on top of your favorite holiday dessert, such as this iced pound cake.
